Gary has just built a pergola for our deck and I am very pleased with the way he managed the project:
1) He kept the work place tidy while the work was in progress.
2) He put a lot of dedication into the job - time and attention.
3) He was very careful about the details. Gary made sure the finish results looked nice and neat, even in corners that we would have otherwise overlooked. He was attentive to both the structural strength and aesthetic aspects of the pergola.
4) He was flexible, receptive to ideas and easy to communicate with.
I would be more than happy to give Gary more work and I definitely recommend him to the rest of Australia!

Gary did the renovations to our house and we couldn’t be happier. The quality of the work was excellent and everything was done in his friendly and good natured way. Gary was always prepared to listen and was creative in making suggestions of how to do things so they turn out best. He had loads of good ideas and was good at communicating them.
We’ll definitely be getting him back when we do the next stage.

I was opening a new business and was in need of a good builder who could work for a price that I could afford. Through the business downstairs from mine (King of the Mountain - Crows Nest) they had given me Gary’s phone number. I was told he was away on another job but he was worth the wait.
While waiting for Gary to return to my area, I received three other quotes from other builders. All three quotes came in more than double what the cost was for Gary.
When Gary returned and began work on our space, he was professional and cared about his work. I had never seen the attention to detail that Gary put into his work. If a wall was not joined correctly or a tile was misplaced he fixed it himself and would stay late almost any given day to finish the projects he was working on for that day to stay on schedule.
He did a complete job by building two rooms for a health club and two locker rooms for our gym. He also built our counter space and our Group Exercise Studio and its stage. His craftsmanship is well above the norm as he puts great effort into his work and as I stated earlier his attention to detail is superior.
I more than recommend Gary for any job you may have. Large or small carpentry jobs or build outs for your business, Gary is the builder for you.

Superlative is in brief how I found working with Gary on a variety of renovation tasks from kitchen installment, gyprocking walls, installing doors and architraves.
Absolutely professional and reliable, he is always on time, energetic and focussed on the job. Extremely skilled at problem solving and able to make some very creative suggestions, Gary is able to blend good craftsmanship with a sensitivity to the aesthetics of building and renovation. I found the "perfect tradie" after a long line of unreliable and uninterested tradesman. I have already booked him for the next stage of studio renovation and look forward to sharing time again with a happy and intelligent personality. No reservations in recommending his services.

Gary completely renovated and restored our old rotten wooden windows in our entire apartment. This task at first appeared manageable, however as Gary proceeded to pull out our existing windows, we soon discovered how big a job it was. Our windows, were rotten and soft to touch in places and Gary had to rebuild new window frames, and restore savable ones. The task was huge, having to sand back 20 years of old paint, paint, paint and paint again, replace old glass and secure back in.
The job Gary did was amazing. His attention to detail and outstanding carpentry skills had our windows looking better than we could have imagined. The job took longer than expected and Gary stayed back later and worked on weekends so it was completed in time. We were extremely impressed with his professionalism and skill level.
We live in a small unit complex and all of the owners from the other units have asked for Gary's number as they to, are so impressed.

I contacted Gary with a request to make some "modern" baby safety gates for our newly renovated house.
I had spoken to a few other joiners and carpenters who did not want to touch the job as it was something that they had never done before.
Gary was more than happy to come and provide a quote.
Our staircase, for which the gates would be made, did provide numerous difficulties to overcome.
However, Gary took on the job and did it to a standard that my husband and I did not even dream of.
He completed the job extremely quickly much to our relief as our 10 month old is crawling and it was becoming a real hazard for her.
He has made them strong enough to withstand the rigor of our two older sons (7yoa + 9yoa) - complete with a spring latch so if they forget to close them it is not a concern.
I love how the gates look - they are modern and amazing - exactly what I wanted!
Friends and family who have seen them can't believe how great they are.
Gary should be commended for -
* his ability to think laterally.
* his professionalism and dedication to the job.
* his accommodating attitude.
* his attention and concern for detail.
* being such a nice, down to earth guy.
I would and will recommend Gary to anyone!

I would like to express my appreciation of the work Gary did repairing the wooden fretwork on our carport. Gary arrived at the appointed time, worked quietly and efficiently and cleaned up at the end of each day which was so helpful to me as I work from home. Gary showed himself to be a skilled and resourceful carpenter with careful attention to detail. I will certainly be contacting Gary again when we need the services of a carpenter. Thank you once again!

We originally had Gary across for some repairs to our home, including replacing a rotting Vergola post, repair/replacement of weatherboarding and other repairs typical of an ageing house by the sea. A year later we embarked on a full renovation of our home. We acquired multiple quotes for most of the work in flooring, electrical, painting, roofing, carpeting, and so on. However, when it came to the higher skilled, structural, and creative aspects of the project, we knew we wanted Gary. He was in demand, so we booked him in advance for the work.
The main parts of the renovation that Gary did was replacing a structural wall with a steel beam, rebuilding stairs with hardwood and stainless steel cabling, building floating shelves in the corner of our living room, and replacing our internal doors.
At the beginning of the project, we discussed the many options in detail. His advice on details that I hadn't previously even considered was most valuable. While we had the general concept of what we wanted, I think we accepted all of his ideas on the implementation details. I'm not sure if it was in his training, but Gary seems to be part interior designer as well as carpenter/builder. I work from home most of the time, so was able to witness much of his work throughout the day. Seeing how confidently he handled various tricky jobs further reinforced my confidence in him.
These days when many people have a "near enough is good enough" kind of mentality, it was refreshing to see Gary taking pride in his work. He is skilled, experienced, well presented, intelligent, articulate, and pays attention to details as if he were working on his own home.
